Lili of the Valley meets Truly Scrumptious :o)

Awwww bless her the wee girl I look after in the mornings went for a lovely long sleep this morning and I managed to get an hours crafting in :o) I originally planned to tidy up the stash a bit, but then I found the image of the wee kitty so I decided to use it and any thoughts of tidying up went out my head (natch!)

The challenge over at Lili of the Valley is a recipe: 3 brads, 2 papers and 1 flower. I love this wee kitty from Lili of the Valley, she's sooo cute. She is coloured with promarkers (I hardly use anything else these days lol). The papers were free in a magazine, the ribbon along the bottom is a paper ribbon from the papers. The flowers and butterflies are from my stash. The sketch I used to make the card is from the first challenge over at Truly scrumptious

Now the older ones are home from school we are watching Harry Potter on dvd and I had forgotten how young and likkle Daniel Radcliff was when the first film came out.........aww you could just eat him he's so cute lol....mind you now he's older he's still yummy but in a more scrummy way lmao........... I am happily married...........honest lol

one card for three challenges

I do wish I had time to make individual cards for all the challenges but there's not enough hours and WAY too many fabby challenges out there!!! I started off with the yellow and green challenge over at Dutch Dare, then thought that it would also fit the Spring theme over at Cute Card Thursday and lastly I used the sketch over at The Secret Crafter

The image is of course the cutest Daisy from Sugar Nellie, coloured with promarkers. Papers were free with a magazine. Mats cut with scalloped square nesties, corner swirls cut with cuttlebug die.

I kind of wish I'd layered the spotted paper onto coloured card so it would show up better than it does against the white, but hey ho too late now lol

JCBC week 20

Is it Monday again already??Where does the weekend go? I feels like only a couple of hours since the kids left on Friday lol Monday means another challenge at Just Christmas and Birthday Cards and this week's sketch by Gry-Heidi is fabulous :o) I made both cards this week.

I flipped the sketch to fit in the Leeanne Ellis Luvvie stamp from Sugar Nellie. Her dress is paper pieced, all papers are from Papermania black and white pad. Raffia is from Tesco, the flowers are from stash (coloured black with a marker) The heart is glittered with some lush red fine glitter
Lets just hope I am in time for the challenges eh lol

AWWW a lovely award

DAD wordbook

A friend asked me to make a card for her husband from their two girls. I was out of mojo when I was sitting with the card blank but then I decided to try and make a wordbook. The papers arrived today and are by Dovecraft, the self adhesive ribbons and chipboard embellies are from the same set. Ribbons are from SU!. The image is Edwin from Magnolia and is coloured with promarkers, I cut off the wings though as the recipient really isn't a fairy kind of guy.......know what I mean? lol ;o)
I have been planning to buy the Funky Daze cd from Funkyhand for a while now as I really like these books and after spending quite a LONG time on this today (and going wrong once or twice of course lol) I will definetely be waiting til I have bought the cd before I make another one of these :o)

I have looked through my notebook and I see that this will qualify for the ABC challenge:- B for Brown and Blue and Charisma Cardz:- Hugs and Kisses (there's plenty of cuddles in the pics!)

The Sugar Bowl challenge #4

Have been meaning to post this one for a couple of days but kept forgetting until the laptop was closed down lol I made this for the fourth Sugar Bowl challenge............use only one piece of patterned paper.................and boy was it a challenge, kept wanting to use more lol!!!

The image is Sweet n Sassy by Sugar Nellie and has been coloured with a mixture of promarkers, gel pens and whispers. The paper is Papermania. Flowers and brad are from my stash as is the ribbon. The card is actually a folder filled with stamped images for a bloggy buddy :o)

last of the weekends cards

here is the last of the cards I did over the weekend :o) Again the image came from someone else and is coloured with promarkers and whispers. the white icing and white heart are coloured with a white gel pen so that have a slight sheen on them. The papers are papermania, the flower, button and ribbon are from stash. The sentiment is from LOTV and I was trying to be smart and get it into the label but it was slightly too big lol

I am entering this into 3 challenges: Charisma Cardz has a cupcake theme; Dutch Dare's theme is Buttons and bows and the layout is following Dawny's sketch at papertake weekly
I must apologise for the totally rubbish pictures today..........the snow has all been rained away and it is dark and dreich here today so the light is sooo bad for photos. Not long til spring though lol

ballerina cat :o)

I received this cute image in a blog candy parcel (I think) it is coloured with the usual promarkers. Pink card stock embossed with swiss dots folder, ribbon is SU Regal Rose, the design paper was free in a magazine. This card is for three challanges: sketch is from 2 Sketches 4 you; Cute Card Thursday have a music/dance theme and the challenge at Spoonfull of Sugar is Doodle Doo. Of course I have just realised I am too late to enter the 2 sketches challenge but hey ho!! There's no sentiment on it as it will probably be for my daughter Lily, I send her cards in the post every now and then as she loves to get post lol

JCBC week 19

Ok onto week 19 at JCBC and this weeks sketch is by Kristin. I have made a birthday card this week but haven't had time to do my Christmas card, I will try and get it done later in the week :o) I changed the sketch slightly as I cannot draw an oval to save my life!!!! I cut out the Tilda image though to give it a bit of shape though. Tilda is coloured with the ever present promarkers, papers are by papermania (surprise surprise you say lol) and the ribbon is SU tempting turquoise. The square gems are from stash and the sentiment is from LOTV.
Have fun with Kristins sketch :o)

Sugar Nellie #3

Over at The Sugar Bowl the theme this fortnight is Love and Romance

As February is the month of St Valentines Day, and this challenge will end on the 12th of February, I thought I'd give us all a head start making Valentines cards! Please make a card, or other project, following the theme of Love & Romance!
(How you interpret the challenge is up to you!)

The card I have made for the challenge is using the stamp "luvvie" by Leeanne Ellis coloured with promarkers. The papers were free in a magazine. flowers and brad from stash. I have also decorated inside and the back of the card with the scraps and nesties :o) certainly nicer than a boring old white insert eh?

We've still got a heap of snow here, we haven't had any more of it but omg it is freezing!! It was -15 here the other night! I have barely going out the house......the school run is about as far as I am going lol

crafty night part two!

Isn't this image just the cutest?? My fabby dt buddy Linda sent it to me for my birthday last month and I finally got time to ink it up :o) It is a Rachel Anne Miller image, Lily and Milo (how cute she has the same name as my wee one) The image is coloured with promarkers and whispers pens, the papers are by Papermania, the ribbon is from my stash (I think it was a tie round some jammies that lily got) The butterfly charm was gifted to me. the purple flower I coloured with the same promarker as Lily's dress :o) The sentiment is from Lili of the Valley. This card was made for four challenges: the sketch is from Mojo Monday; Charisma Cardz has a recipe 3 papers, 2 flowers and 1 ribbon; Cute Card Thursday want us to use metal and Dutch Dare want a love card but no pink or red.

I also started a parchy card last night which I will be back to show later when I have finished it :o)

Lily's school is closed today as the heating boiler has packed up. So another impromtu day off, well almost, just a couple of kids today. We still have a lot of snow so I am sure we will be able to squeeze in some sledging later.

last night was a crafty night!

Last night I had a lovely crafty night after Lily had toddled off to bed :o) I didn't do a crafty thing at the weekend so I did a bit of catch up with the challenges by combining them

the first card has been made using an oriental image that was gifted to me at Christmas in a crafty secret santa, there are another 6 images on the page, so don't be surprised if you see them again lol. I have matted it using the label nestie set........the gorgeous Dawn sent me a cut out if each size and I drew round it (resourceful or what!). The corner stamp and fan stamp are from a See Ds oriental set. The fan has been heat embossed with silver powder. The pink layers have been embossed with the leafy branch folder on the cuttlebug and highlighted with purple and pink pastels. there's a wee dragonfly hanging from the fan but its not sitting right on the pic! This card is for the challenges at: Daring Cardmakers ~ Oriental but no red or black and Sketch Saturday

JCBC week 18

Week 18 over at JCBC and its my turn!!! I like to keep things simple with my sketches (simple mind = simple sketch lol) but find that when I make the cards up they are sometimes harder than the more complicated sketches with lots of layers.....hmmm must think of a more complicated sketch next time :o)

The Christmas card this week is made using an image that was sent to me, so I don't know where its from. The pink papers are from FunkyFairy (Free Pink Xmas download) the snowflake is from my stash, I think it was gifted to me by a crafty buddy.

For the birthday card I used the gorgeous Luvvie stamp by Leeanne Ellis for Sugar Nellie. Paper and ribbon are from stash as are the flowers and brad. I have papers pieced the hear with the same paper. Luvvie is coloured with promarkers and Whispers pens. The sentiment is a peel off which I don't use very often, but liked how it looked on this one.
I hope you'll have fun with my sketch, can't wait to see what you all do with it :o)

wedding card

I had a lovely day today, the school was closed due to the snow so Lily was home again (she was home yesterday with a cough) thankfully her cough is a bit better today so she wasn't so clingy and miserable! She was playing in her room for a while so I got a chance to play. I had an order for a wedding card for a friend and found this pattern in this months Parchment Craft Magazine, its really a valentine card but I thought it would be good for a wedding card too :o)

A wee closeup of the detail

It was lovely to be parching again, its been a while since I did any. The white parts are all embossed and to make sure the parchment doesn't buckle you have to mboss in layers starting with a large ball tool, I did 5 layers of ebbossing leaving the paper to "rest" between each layer, so it took quite a while!

thankyou card

Over at Charisma Cardz the theme was to make a card with black and white and one other colour. I love black and white and as I have these papers I thought they would be perfect for it. The sketch for the card is from Friday Sketchers and the Dutch Dare challenge was to make a thankyou card so thought this would qualufy for all three :o)

The image is a Sugar Nellie, called "Custard" just coloured a wee bit with marker pens, the papers are Dovecraft Hint of Pink and ribbon is from stash. The ribbon slider, corner swirls and 2 part butterfly are cut with cuttlebug dies. The inside is decorated again with the leftover scraps :o)

JCBC #17

Well here comes Monday morning again! And of course that means another sketch at JCBC This week it is the turn of Janina. it is a fabby sketch and I am sure you will love it :o)

This week I managed to make both a birthday and Christmas card. The birthday card is made with a glittered sticker and some paper from the scrap box, the corner swirl is cut with a cuttlebug die. The ribbon slider is also cut on the cuttlebug. I hope Janina will forgive me for not putting the ribbon on th side of this one, I just couldn't find the right shade :o(

The Christmas card is made with one of 2008's cards, cut to fit on a scalloped square nestie. Some curling ribbon and a bit of doodling with a white gel pen. the green banner was bought ages ago and has been sat in my stash ever since lol
Please come over and join in the fun at JCBC :o)
ETA: wooopppps set this to come on this morning and I got the date wrong....what a donut I am lol

one card for four challenges!

When I saw todays challenge over at the Cuttlebug Spot was to make a Valentine card for a child I immediately thought of the Sugar Nellie stamp "Daisy", she is my favourite stamp just now so I thought she was apporpriate for my favourite girl! The sketch is by Laura at 2 sketches for you. the theme over at Spoonfull of Sugar is Love is in the Air and at Cute Card Thursday it is Valentine, so this card is appropriate for them too :o)

The image is coloured with promarkers (ooooh I am loving these lol), papers are Papermania "Amethyst Infusion", scalloped circle and corner swirl cut with the "bug", scalloped square used inside as well. A scrap of ribbon from last night and a wee heart gem on the daisy and the sentiment done on the pc ...et voila as the french would say :o)

I had my first try at using the leftover scraps to decorate the inside of the card like I have seen done in a much better fashion than here but hey ho I thought I would give it a go for a while and see if I like it lol

Papertake Weekly

So far over at Papertake Weekly I have loved all of DawnyPs sketches, this one is number 7. A friend had a little boy over the weekend so I made this card to send to them :o) The image was sent to me so I sadly don't know who it is by, but I thought he was soooo cute I couldn't resist it. It is coloured with promarkers and whispers pens. The sentiment is Studio G (I think!). ric rac from stash, safety pins bought in my local craft shop before it closed down last year :o( Papers are Papermania "venetian skies" and the strips are embossed with the swiss dots folder. the gorgeous little charm came in a parcel of goodies from a crafty friend at Xmas.

Mojo Monday # 71

This is my first time joining in at Mojo Monday, I couldn't resist the sketch, nice and simple ( a lot like me lol) The image is a Sugar Nellie, its called "Strawbery Tea" and is coloured with promarkers. the papers are by Papermania "Amethyst Infusion" ribbons are from my stash.

Not a great picture sadly as I took it tonight and these lovely eco energy saving lightbulbs are just the worst thing to take pics in as I am sure you all know :o)
