Just Magnolia 2 and Sketch Saturday

Hello girlies..................woohoo its Thursday ............almost the weekend lol Don't know where April has gone though, who's been in stealing it thats what I want to know :o) Not been around much for the last couple of days. Lily seemed better on Monday so I sent her back to school but by Monday night she was screaming when she went to the loo....................don't you just hate infections "down there" She started some antibiotics yesterday and seems on the mend already. Poor wee thing she was in a really sorry state yesterday.

Today I have made a card for the challenges over at Just Magnolia ~ pink and green and I followed the sketch at Sketch Saturday.

The papers are both from the Gorjuss Ginghams from Funky Fairy, image coloured with whispers and promarkers, ribbons from stash, slider cut with cuttlebug die and sentiment stamp is Stamping up. I have loosley followed the sketch on the inside too. It doesn't show in the picture but the wee heart has glossy accents on it. I also did a bit of faux stitching to make the papers stand out a bit more :o)

Hope all you girlies are having a lovely day today, we had some sun earlier but it seems to have disappeared now :o( Here's hoping for a sunnier weekend

A lovely award

How lucky am I?? I received this lovely award today from Ali at Crafty Ribbons, how sweet is that? Thank you so much Ali it is appreciated :o)

I am looking forward to the next Crafty Ribbons Challenge, I didn't enter this one as although I am a dog lover I am not good at colouring animal stamps and don't have any doggy images. I am definetely going to try for the next one though :o)

First Whiff of Joy Challenge entry :o)

This is my first time entering a Whiff of Joy Challenge, mainly of course because I have no WOJ stamps, but Tina let me stamp her stamps when she was down a few weeks ago :o) I really loved the sketch that is the challenge this week. It also qualifies for the Stamp Something challenge which is "showers or flowers" lol

The papers were all free in a magazine, flowers, brads and ribbon all from stash :o)

Just a quickie tonight girlies cos I have had such a hassled day today I am off for a wee dram and a bit of mindless telly lmao

week 29 at JCBC

Good morning girlies!!! Hope you're all well this morning. I am happy to report that Lily is much better today and is raring to get to school lol.

This week at Just Christmas and Birthday Cards the sketch has been set by Kristin. It was a sketch that I have to admit I struggled with, although I have an idea for my Christmas card that I am hoping to get made later in the week :o)

The paper is by Tinker & Co, ribbon from stash, buttons, sentiment and flower stamp are all stampin up. The flowers are cut with nesties and I have inked the edgies with lime green promarker. I am annoyed that I have placed the three flowers too close to the top edge, no idea why I did that as they were better centered when I laid it out before sticking it all down..............dduuuuhhhh!!

Have a fab Monday girlies :o)

Mojo Monday and Penny Black

Evening girlies, not been up to much this weekend partly because Lily has still not been herself, she is getting a bit better but she is up and down so I have been keeping her busy when she is ok and cuddling up on the sofa when she's feeling rubbish, poor wee thing.
After she went to bead earlier I decided it was time for a bit of fun. The sketch at Mojo Monday this week is fab and the Penny Black Saturday Challenge is "Anything Goes" (wahey). The paper is by Dovecraft, image is a penny Black stickeroo, flowers and tiny buttons are from stash and the ribbon is from the spring collection at Crafty Ribbons finished off with a few bits of doodling :o)
Back tomorrow with my DT card for this week :o)

New Challenge Blog coming up

Emma (metallic butterfly) and Kirsten (Kirsten's Krafty Place) are starting a new challenge blog called Allsorts Challenge as the name suggest the challenges will be allsorts.................a bot of everything which is just up my street lol

The girls are also looking for some DT members so head on over there and see whats happening :o)

Stamptacular Sunday Challenge

Happy Saturday girlies, I hope you've all got a wee bit of sun, we've got some (it was really lovely this morning) and it is braw and warm out there. My wee Lily hasn't been too well this last couple of days, she had a temperature and just was not herself. Poor wee bairn!! She seems a bit better today but who knows what brewing

Over at the Stamptacular Sunday Challenge the challenge is to use black and white and one other colour. I LOVE black and white although I don't use it much, and I love it with red too :o) The polkadot paper was a leftover from earlier in the week and is by Funky Hand (Salt and Pepper), the stamp is Polkadot Punches by Stamping Up, both ribbons are also Stamping Up. I've kep this one pretty simple as it is just a card to say hello to a friend I haven't seen in a while and she prefers this style to the cute girlie stamps I usually use lol
Have a great weekend girlies I have to take Lily to her swimming lesson this afty and then I am thinking of a lazy night with a couple of drinks and maybe a film................or if there's no decent films on I might just spend the evening at the craft table lol

Just Magnolia #1 and Stamp with US

Hello girlies.............another lovely sunny day here today so I spent most of the day in the garden with the kids which is why I am so late with the card I've made for the first challenge at Just Magnolia and I used the colour challenge over at Stamp with US for the colour scheme. Just looking at the chocolate cake made my mouth water lol

I've flipped and rotated the sketch as I just couldn't get it to look right the other way. The doily is from my stash, both ribbons are by Stamping Up, the image is coloured with my usual darling promarkers. Tilda's wings and the water and rose of the watering can have glossy accents. Flowers and brads are also from stash, and the papers are all by Papermania.

I kept the inside simple (partly because of the time lol)

LBD for three challenges

Ok so I do not and never have owned a Little Black Dress..............maybe someday ~ but still not got the figure............or a place to wear it come to think of it lol Over at Charisma Cardz the theme is LBD and I remembered this sweet little die cut sent to me a loooooong time ago by a friend. Amazingly enough I remembered where it was (don't all die of shock now!) so I combined it with the challenge of black, white and pink with the added option of polka dots over at Colour Create and the Cute Card Thursday theme to use flowers et voila as the french would say!

As mentioned the die cut dress was a gift, the polkadotty paper is by Funky Hand from the Salt & Pepper set and the flowers, ribbon and brads all from my stash. The little square of crimed rose card is one thats been in my crafty box for a long time, from way back when I first started cardmaking I think :o)
The sun is shining away here but it's quite windy too so not warm enough to sit out in (thats my excuse to craft anyway lol). I am sure the kids will be out there after school though...........they get plenty warm on the trampoline................hmm interesting thought maybe I should do that for a while to warm me up. On second thoughts maybe not the trampoline is in the front garden right on the street, can't have people seeing me make a spectacle of myself (well sober anyway lmao)

Sugar Bowl at last

LOL I think I am slipping in to the Sugar Bowl by the skin of my teeth this time!! The fabulous sketch by Tiets looked complicated and to be frank scared the pants off me (I realise thats TMI girlies but hey ho.....just be grateful it's not on screen lmao) The image is Luvvie by Leeanne Ellis coloured with my trusty promarkers, papers are scraps leftover from free papers, flowers, butterfly charm and brad are all from my stash, both the orange gingham and the wide ribbon are leftover from the spring challenge at Craft Ribbons, the sentiment is a wee clear set that I think I got for 99p at the SECC can't remember who its by.
Phew I think thats all lol

JCBC week 28

Well girlies Monday morning is upon us once more (!) and that of course means another week at Just Christmas and Birthday Cards. This week it is my sketch for you to follow and I do hope you'll enjoy it lol

My card is made with some paper I got free in a magazine, the image is from a Christmas set by SeeD. The scalloped edges are cut with the Fiskars border punch, ribbon and gems are from stash, the ribbon slider is cut with a cuttlebug die and the sentiment is from the same set as the angel. I have also put a wee touch of stickles on the halo and trumpet :o)

Please come and join us at JCBC, we really do love to see your creations

Mojo Monday meets Papertake Weekly

Evening girlies I am back safe and sound from my travels, a bit knackered as I never sleep well in hotel rooms, but what a lovely break we had. Lily had an absolute ball at grannies and came back spoiled rotten (but thats what grannies are for eh lol) The drive down to Carlisle was ok, no mjor problems but we arrived to discover ~ horror of horrors the hotel didn't have a bar!!!! (serves us right for booking the cheapest travelodge in the area and not checking it out properly)

So I mopped up Ian's tears and dispatched him to find a supermarket to buy some drinkies for the weekend and we ended up having a really good night on the Friday with Ian's son and future wife although I dread to think what the people in the next room must have thought cos we were laughing so much...........I am living with the hope that the next door rooms were empty ;o)

We spent Saturday looking round The Mill which is where the wedding will be and I am soooo impressed, it really is a stunning setting and so well thought out and maintained, I am really looking forward to the wedding :o) I wanted to show a few pics girlies but as usual never leave a man to do a woman's job.........he took his super duper all singing all dancing camera and didn't take one picture at the venue...............MEN!!!

We had a lovely drive home to pick up Lily then a quick stop in at Tesco and back up the road to Kingussie. The sun was belting so we sat in the garden for the rest of the afternoon. After Lily was put to bed etc I decided to have a wee play, and here is my card for the Mojo Monday and Papertake Weekly Challenges. The paper was free in a magazine, the image is of course a Gorjuss Girl from Sugar Nellie and the flower, ribbon and brad are from my stash. The scalloped edges are done with the Fiskars threading water border punch.

Hope you girlies all had a lovely weekend as well :o)

nothing crafty :o(

Ok so it probably won't surprise any of you that my planned crafty time didn't happen yesterday!! By the time I got Lily off to bed and then I had to go and clean the church (my part time job to help fund my crafting addiction lol). By then it was getting on for 9pm and to be honest I couldn't be bothered!! So I watched a dvd instead lol

This morning after I've done a quick blog hop it will be packing time for me. Ian and I are going to Gretna for the weekend............and before you ask no we're not getting married lol Ian's son Nicky, who is 25, is getting married at Gretna in October and we are going for the weekend to do a few preparations. We were supposed to go at the end of November but we got 10 miles down the A9 and the snow was horrendous so we ended up coming home. We were gutted as we had been so looking forward to it. The hotel very kindly rescheduled the rooms for us which they're not supposed to do (its a Travelodge special offer). Lily is going to grannys for the weekend so she will be spoiled beyond belief, she is very excited lol

Have a lovely weekend girlies, see you when I get back :o)

one card for four challenges!

Morning Girlies!! Such a busy week this week that is the first chance I've had to get crafty!! We went to visit some friends yesterday who are moving to North Berwick today so made this card as a "good luck in your new home" card. It manages to fit 4 challenges!! ~ Spoonfull of Sugar want us to use die cuts/punches so I have used nesties to cut the image and fiskars border punch on the striped paper. The Pink Elephant for the colour scheme of pink, green and yellow. Sketch Saturday for the sketch (funnily enough lol) and Stamp Something want as many shapes as possible. Papers are by K&Co, image is a lovely Penny Black coloured with common or garden variety colouring pencils (mainly because the card the image is stamped on doesn't take the old promarkers very well) Brads, ribbon, eyelets, charms etc are all from stash, the key charm is for their new home :o) I am hoping to be back later with some more crafty makes but you know about "best laid plans" and all that lol

Just Christmas and Birthday Cards Week 27

Morning girlies.............is it really Monday again?? I hope you are all full to the gunnells with chocolate eggs! I know Lily is (big surprise there eh)

This week over at JCBC the sketch is by the fabby Janina. I really love this sketch it is one I am sure I will use over and over :o) The image on my birthday card is Day Dreamer by Leanne Ellis at Sugar Nellie, isn't she just adorable? The papers are by Funky Hand from the Huge Funky Love download, ribbon and gems are from stash.
I hope that you will join us this week, we do love to see all your creations :o)

The good luck continues......................

Well gorgeous girlies I hope you are all enjoying this Easter weekend?

These last two weeks have been very lucky for me...............to start with I won a blog candy which arrived this week, then I won the Elisabeth Bell stamp set on Wednesday and then today I went into my local shop to find I had won an Easter Egg.............I bought two tickets at 50p each and I got this HUGE easter egg...............it's not just HUGE it's MAHOOOOOOOSIVE!!! The ticket says it weights 1kg

I tell you between all the gifts I have made to give, the 4 eggs Lily has already received and now this badboy its like Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory in this house. We'll be eating it for weeks!!!!! oooooh I am dreading the next dental visit lol
Lily had a fun afternoon with some really hard boiled eggs. Her hands are covered in pen and she has been cutting up her stickers like there's no tomorrow!! She wanted me to take her picture so I could put it on here for her to show you all her eggs. She is looking forward to rolling these down the hill after church tomorrow :o)

Night night girlies I hope you all get lots of lovely eggs from the Easter Bunny

More of the Easter Goodies

As I said in my last post I've had a very productive day...Easter~wise!! I loved making the egg box I made the other day so much I ended up making 2 more today................so easy and they look so fabby lol

Another Penny Black image from the stash I got from Jozza. Papers from Dovecraft again. I thought seeing as I made a gift for my daughter in law to be I thought I should make one for my step son (I like to be fair like that lol) So Nicky will be getting this eggbox filled with Creme Eggs

Last of the eggboxes with a lovely Whiff of Joy image I got from Tina. This one is for Lily's friend..........yet more Creme Eggs (I bought up a huge stash of them lol)

Colour Create Challenge

I got on a roll today...............its like an Easter Wonderland in my living room just now and it will all be gone tomorrow lol

My stepson is getting married in October and my daughter in law to be loves marshmallow top hats..........she's a big kid really!! whenever we have a birthday party I have to save her some so last Christmas I made her a batch and put them in a pretty box as a joke gift. So I thought she would like some for Easter cos lets face it it's been 4 months since she scoffed that lot :o)

The colours over at Colour Create are Duck Egg Blue and Rose. So I happily coloured Tilda in those colours and attached her to the front of this box. Everything was cut on the cuttlebug using scalloped square and labels 2 nesties, the butterfly is also a cuttlebug die.

Here's a closeup of Tilda

Penny Black Easter

This is my first time entering a Penny Black challenge, mainly due to the fact that I don't have any Penny Black images (you can see the difficulty lol) The gorgeous Jozza stamped some for me in an image swap so I am delighted to finally take part :o)

The challenge is to make a gift. I had the very (not) smart idea of making this years easter eggs............I made one and gave it up as a bad job and hotfooted it to Tesco and got all 8 Easter eggs in one hit!!! Next time I have an idea like that I will go and lie down and let the urge pass!

The one egg I did make I have filled with Mini eggs and is going to hubby :o) The paper is Dovecraft and the wee hedgie is coloured with promarkers. The egg is sitting on a ring of card and wrapped in cellophane I got from my local friendly florist :o)

Thursday, 9 April 2009

YAY I got crafty time today :o)

Hello girlies how are you all this fine Thursday evening?? I have had a lovely couple of days, we went to see 3 of my hubbys grandkids yesterday and then stopped in at my mums on the way home. We had a good laugh playing on the wii and I whipped everyones backsides at bowling (got to have some advantage to spending all that time at the bowling alley as a teenager lol) So now I am thinking of getting a wii, Lily really enjoyed it too :o) Then I found out that I had won the blog candy at Elisabeth Bell's blog and have won the spring release.....as I am sure you can all imagine I was jumping up and down for joy!!!

I had a quiet day today at the craft table........oh it was lovely I had missed my "me"time. I made this card for a three challenges ~ Penny Black Saturday Challenge (Easter theme), Charisma Cardz (green and purple) and Sketch Saturday The image is a lovely Penny Black that Tina stamped for me, coloured with promarkers. The paper is Papermania, flowers, ribbon and brad from stash. The paper running accross the card is more green than it looks here, I am a terrible photographer lol

~~~~~
I am making gifts for the grandkids rather than buying easter eggs so I have tarted up this egg box which I will be filling with Cream Eggs (yummmm) The image is a Gorjuss Girl coloured with the usual promarkers. Paper is by Funky Hand Ribbon is from stash, the sentiment stamp is from Sugar Nellie cut with nesties. It's my first time using the white gel pen to highlight the image and I like it except for the hair, I did too much lol. It is for two challenges ~ Stamp Something (Happy Easter) and Cute card Thursday (Marshmallows and Chocolate)
~~~~~

This card is for Lily, for Easter and follows the sketch at Friday Sketchers The image and papers are all the Warren Download from Tinker & Co

Phew............anyone still here at the end of this post deserves a medal and/or chocolate and/or a large drink...............feel free to award yourselves whichever you prefer lol

A sad day for us

As most of you will know I work as a childminder. Children come and go but some of them just get right into your heart and make themselves at home. One of these kids is Jay Jay, he came to us over two years ago when he was just 2 years old. He was taken into foster care and I looked after him during school hours as his foster carer is a school teacher. Jay Jay is one of the sweetest children I have come accross. When he first arrived he had a few problems, he would obsessively tidy away each toy before he got the next one out, he hardly spoke and was very shy. After 3 days of sitting on the floor with every toy from the toyboxes surrounding us he eventually opened up and is now a noisy, boisterous, happy and messy boy with so much love and laughter it makes me happy every day to see him.

However today was the last time I will see him as he is going to live with his grandparents tomorrow. I am happy for him that he is going to live with family but for myself I am just gutted! I am going to miss him so much, I feel like my heart is breaking. Lily is just as bad, there is only a year between them so they were like brother and sister. She has accepted it and is glad for him but the next few days will be hard for her as it sinks in that she won't see him again.
I made this photo frame for him to take with him. I am doing a scrapbook which will be sent on to him when it's finished. The picture was taken at Christmas 2007, Lily and Jay Jay were still in nursery and it was the day of their nursery Christmas party.

These photos were taken today :o)

Just Christmas and Birthday Cards week 26

Morning girlies! Hope you're all having a Happy Monday! I am looking forward to this week as I have most of it off.....bliss lol. It's week 26 over at JCBC and this weeks sketch is by the lovely Mada. This week I wasn't as busy so managed to make both cards, and I loved making both of them.

My Christmas card is made with a lovely tilda image that I got from Tina yesterday, coloured with promarkers, the paper was a gift so no idea where its from, ribbon etc from stash.

I carried the sketch through to the inside of the card too :o)

The birthday card is using one of the Gorjuss girls that Tina also stamped for me. Again she is coloured with my beloved promarkers. The card stock and paper is all from SU! the sentiment is from Lili of the Valley, the ribbon slider is cut on the cuttlebug.

I hope you have fun with Mada's great sketch this week :o)

Stamp With Us Challenge

Morning gorgeous girlies, hope you're all enjoying a lovely Sunday ~ I spy a bright yellow ball in the sky .....anyone know what it is??? it is certainly making me feel good so whatever it is I likes it lol

There's a new challenge blog called Stamp With Us. It's a challenge for fans of Stampin Up products and at least one SU! product has to be used for each challenge. To celebrate the launch there is a sketch to follow. My card is made with my brand new SU! order that arrived on Friday morning. The paper and turquoise card stock are from the brights range. the ribbon is also SU as is the stamp. the only thing not SU is the wee gem lol I must admit I loved using the products, so nice to have card stock, papers and ribbon that all tone together without me having to think about it lol

Watch this space tomorrow for some more SU! stuff on my dt cards ;o)

My first time entering at Colour Create

The challenge over at Colour Create is Lilac and Blue. I made this wee tin which in fact started life as a large Coffee Mate tub (hubby goes through a tub a week so expect to see a few more of these lol) The image is a Sugar Nellie one, coloured with promarkers, ribbon is SU! flowers are from stash and the jewelled brads are dovecraft. Not sure where the paper is from it was a gift.

Here's a pic of the top :o) I can show this now as I have given it to its recipient...............Tina We finally got our day together today, it was so lovely to see her again and meet Andrew and the gorgeous Poppy dog :o) We had a lot of fun inking up some new stamps..........what a lassie she brought me a Gorjuss Girl stamp as a gift and she stopped in at the Sugar Nellie shop to get me a couple of stamps I had asked her for so you can bet your butt there's going to be a few cards in the near future that feature them lol
Hope you're having a fabby weekend girlies I certainly am :o)

more of the gorgeous ribbons

With the huge amount of ribbon that comes from the Crafty Ribbons challenge I felt that two items wasn't enough lol so I spent last night setting myself a challenge of my own. I wanted to make a card with nothing but ribbons, no papers to detract from the ribbons!! As I was looking through the challenge blogs I came accross the fabby sketch over at Spoonfull of Sugar and seeing as the ribbons are quite wide I thought it would look great :o) of course with the lush colours of the ribbons it also fits for the Citrus Colours challenge over at Cute Card Thursday
Image is my fave Daisy by Sugar Nellie, coloured with promarkers and cut with nesties (Labels 2), sentiment stamp from Lili of the Valley, charm, hearts and buttons from stash and ribbons are all from Crafty Ribbons of course!
Now time to pack up my crafty ribbons bits and get them in the post, my turn to be last I think lol

Daring Cardmakers and Friday Sketchers

Last of the cards I made last night using the Warren download (from Tinker & Co) again and following the sketch over at Friday Sketchers and the theme of "Bunnies and Chicks" at Daring Cardmakers.

Papers all from download, tag embossed with divine swirls, the mat embossed with Argyll folder. Ribbon is SU! organza ribbon. Greeting is a peel off which I don't like using much nowadays, but as I don't have an Easter stamp I thought it was better than my handwriting!!

Another wee bunny inside :o)

Wow three cards and a whole evening's crafting and not a promarker or a stamp in sight!!! How did I manage? have I got withdrawal symptoms?? you betcha roflmao

sketch and stash meets the pink elephant

The challenge over at The Pink Elephant is to make an Easter card and there is a fabulous sketch over at Sketch and Stash so how could I reisist?? The new stash on this card (and the next one) is a set that is free to download at Tinker & Co You really have to get over there and get it girlies it is just a gorgeous set, the papers are lovely, the colours are fab and the images come in 3 sizes so perfect for any card :o) I really fell in love with the wee bunny (he's called Warren by the way lol) The mats were cut with Nesties Label 2 set, embossed with Divine Swirls, papers and image all from the set. I loved the papers so much I decorated inside too

I think Ms Mojo has come home :o)

I had a lovely evening crafting last night so I am happy to report that Ms Mojo seems to have come home, whether it's for a quick pit stop or for a longer stay I have no idea but while she's here I'll make as much uise of her as I can.................get her to paint my bathroom, wash up that sort of thing lol

This card is actually for my step son's birthday which is today..............poor lad he's had 25 years of joke presents, pretending we've forgotten etc! Now what kind of card can you make for a 25 year old lad? BEER!!!! I have had this beer die cut for ages, a friend sent it to me more than a year ago and I knew it would come in handy at some point! (I'm just amazed I could find it after all this time heehee) The papers are by Dovecraft as is the chipboard tag, the beer glass has some glossy accents on. scalloped circle cut with nesties and embossed with the Argyll embossing folder. I used the Inspirational Card Sketches sketch to make it. It also qualifies for the Cute Card Thursday challenge which was to make a card for a member of the family.
