Pink card challenge for blog candy

Suzanne @ Slumber cards is having a pink blog candy giveaway and to enter you have to make a pink card to send to someone touched by Breast cancer. I have had the blog candy linked for a while but haven't had the time to make a card for it. This card was made in the Summer and I just came accross it while looking for a birthday card!! I thought it fitted the bill so I will be entering it :) I will be sending it to a family member who has survived breast cancer

challenges from yesterday :)

Lily had a friend over to play yesterday afternoon and as they were up in the bedroom playing for ages I decided to have a bit of fun myself :)
This one is for the sketch over at Papertake weekly, the sketch is by the very talented Dawny and I had great fun with it :) It is Dawny's first time setting a sketch :) The stamped image was a gift from A bloggy friend, coloured with the whispers pens. Isn't he cute?

This one is for the challenge at Carol's Paperplayce. The paper and tree and frames are from Funky Fairy Inspiration Blog As it has lots of stars I will also be entering it into the Cute Card Thursday challenge as the theme there is "The Stars at Night"

I also made two other cards but as they are the DT cards for the JCBC blog I will post them nearer the time :)

blog candy with a wee challenge

The gorgeous Dawn is giving away blog candy here there is a wee challenge attached that Dawn wants to see our craft areas!!!! Even better if there is a pic of you in it. I craft in the living room on the dining table and when I have been busy it is a real mess, although it has to be tidied away every day :( I hate having my pic taken so I took a pic of Lily in it last night (yes my daughter is wearing a tutu on top of her jeans lol) As you can see I had been busy last night. Had to take another pic this morning though as the pic from last night was a bittie dark :)

Last nights work :)

The tv was rubbish last night so I decided to have a go at the challenge over at Funky Fairy the challenge is:

This weeks challenge takes us to that time of year!! You know...the one that is VERY quickly getting closer and closer!!! ......Christmas! .......BUT.....there's a twist!!Our challenge to you is to 'Make something for Christmas - other than a card'!! OR .... 'Make something for Christmas - other than a card ... AND... a card to match' :0)

So here is my Xmas gift bag. Now I am going to admit that I can't remember where I got the template for this bag, I downloaded it last year and made a heap of them for Lily's birthday party bags. Sadly I can hardly remember last week let alone last year, but if anyone is interested I could scout around for it for you lol. It is based on a french fry carton and you can fit lots into it :)

Papers from Funky Fairy Blue Xmas download available on the Funky Fairy Inspiration Blog

Now I better hide the sweets before Lily spies them as they are for any Halloween callers we might get next week :)

what a lovely afternoon :)

I had such fun this afternoon, Lily was playing at a friends and I had the house to myself to craft!!! Heaven :) So I made three cards for three challenges................

The theme at Daring Cardmakers is Forever Autumn.....So now I’m daring you to make a card that depicts Autumn. It can be an Autumn scene or it can be something completely different but using a palette of Autumn colours……the choice is yours! The backing is from an old birthday card, the other bits and pieces are made from scraps in my stash.

This week at Friday Sketchers the sketch is by Claudia Rosa and the challenge was to make sure the image stayed within the border so I used ths Wonderful Christmas stamp as it is a horizontal image :) the papers are from the Blue Christmas download from Funky Fairy Inspiration Blog
This last card is for the challenge over at Card Positioning Systems
the Sarah Kay image was a present from the fabby Dawn coloured with whispers markers :)

Just Xmas and Birthday challenge

Here is my card for this weeks challenge at Just Xmas and Birthday Cards. The sketch this week is Linda's and I will admit it was a difficuly one for me...........no idea why lol I managed to make this one though (2 other attempts ended up in the bin ugh) The paper was a gift from a bloggy buddy Dawn. The three small circles are on foam pads to make them pop out a bit :) The greeting is traced onto parchment paper and embossed with a small ball tool. The oval behind is cut from handmade paper.

A Spoonfull of Sugar

Here is my card for the Spoonfull of Sugar challenge this week. The theme is Halloween and I love the colours........orange and lime green are just so funky lol. The papers are from Funky Fairy again (see last post for link)

Papertake Weekly and 2 Sketches 4 You

One card to cover both challenges at Papertake Weekly and 2 Sketches 4 You. The theme at Papertake Weekly is Frightful but Delightful and the sketch over at 2 Sketches 4 You is Laura's 11th sketch. The photo is of Lily from Halloween last year and Lily is going to send it to granny and grandad for Halloween :) The papers are from a Halloween Download on the Funky Fairy Challenge Blog
I hope you will agree that my wee witch is delightful rather than frightful lol

parchment xmas card

I thought it was about time I made a parchment card, it seems like such a long time since I made one! This one took 2 evening to make, there is such a lot of cutting! The pattern is from the November Parchment Craft magazine :) I have used beads to stitch it to the card as there are very little areas to put tape behind. There are no beads on the pattern but I quite like how it looks with them. Here is a close up of the gridwork.

Tilda card for Daring Cardmakers

The theme this week at Daring Cardmakers is
Paint the Town........ red, green, sky blue pink with yellow dots on, or any colour you fancy, with acrylics, H2Os or watercolours, with brushes, sponges or splatters. We don't mind, as long as you use paint on your cards. So have some fun with the DCM and get Painty this week.

so Tilda is coloured with Twinkling H2Os and the corners are stitched using a pattern I found ages ago and have used many times :)
Around the heart is pricked with my pergamano semi circle perforating tool just for an added bit of detail

Poppicrafts and Spoonfull of Sugar challenges

2 challenges today :) the challenge over at Poppicrafts is to make a card with no image, and also to use pink, black, white or green. I knew I had the perfect stamp for this one! It is a PSX Stamp I bought a few months ago and so far it has only been used for inserts and of course I LOVE pink and black together. The ribbons are recycled from my mum! Whenever she buys a new top she cuts off the little ribbon loops from inside them and keeps them for me lol I got a bundle when I was down the other day heehee. The black dotty paper is an envelope I loved from a card I received :)
Second card is for the sketch challenge over at A Spoon Full of Sugar, the sketch is by Lim. The butterfly is a gridworked piece of ivory parchment vellum.

(see previous post for a link) The holly border is a stamp I bought through Baker Ross so don't know the manufacturere and the embellishment in the middle was one I found in the Xmas box lol The dots on the holly border have a bit of blue glitter glue on for a bit of sparkle lol

this weekends challenges

I had a busy weekend, on Saturday Ian and I wrestled with Lily's new bedroom furniture. I think I have found my talent.............I am expert at picking the most complicated flat pack furniture EVER!!! It took us all day and more than a few naughty words but we finally got the wardrobe and bed made :) Lily loves her new bed so that makes it all worth it lol I was too exhausted to craft though! Must be a first lol
We spent the day at my mum's yesterday, Lily adores her granny so we had a lovely day. My brother came with his girlfriend and their 3 month old baby, Cameron, so I had loads of Auntie cuddles.....awww much cuteness!!

Managed to make a couple of cards last night, the first one is for the Card Positioning Systems challenge.......the fairy image is from a Christmas card Lily received last year and the wings and crown are glittered. This one will probablt be for Lily to give to one of her friends seeing as it was her card I used to make it :)

The second card is for the challenge over at Sketch Saturday I really like this sketch and I can see myself using it a lot, it is nice and simple for the numerous Xmas cards we all have to make :) The papers I have used are a free download at funkyfairy it is available here

And finally the third card is for the new challenge blog I mentioned earlier in the week Just Christmas and Birthday cards It was a sketch this week and again it was a nice and simple one. I chose to make a Xmas card seeing as there are so many to be made! The fairy image was another of Lily's cards from last year I think she is so cute lol

more blog candy!!

I have no idea why I am finding so many new blogs and candy offers today!! Must be because I am putting off the housework (there's that swear word again!) blog candy

Nikki has two of the cutest stamps as blog candy here, they are made by High Hopes and are two little dragons, one of the has a wee dummy...... hows that for adorable?! Check out Nikki's blog too she makes gorgeous cards :)

Cute Card Thursday Card

The challenge over at Cute Card Thursday is "Buttons and Bows" These froggy buttons have been lurking in my sewing basket since before I had Lily 5 years ago. I had knitted some white cardigans but bought pink bunnies and green froggies to sew on depending on whether I had a girl or boy! I gave the cardigans away..........wish I had changed the buttons beforehand so I still had the bunnies but I wasn't cardmaking and therefore obssessed with collecting and keeping anything that could possibly be used on a card lol

Daring cardmakers "bright!" card

The theme over at Daring Cardmakers is

"bright!"This week your challenge is to be
Bright! Clashy is good, hot colours are good, anything super duper bright is good too.

One of my favourite colour combos is lime green and pink, so had to dig out the pink paper and lime ribbon. the stamp is a frame that has half a dozen different stamps to go in the middle.

card for my brother

My wee brother.........ok I say he's my wee brother but there is less than 2 years between us! So that makes him 32 on Monday! Not so wee lol The image on this card is salvaged from a card my hubby received a couple of years ago, heehee I am feeling saintly for recycling ;)

We are off to see my mum and step dad on Sunday, Lily is looking forward to a day with granny of course so I will see my brother then, and that means I will get an auntie cuddle with my wee nephew Cameron, haven't seen him for 6 weeks (boohoo) Can't wait lol

two more challenges

Two more challenges finished last night, well one card covers them both again! The two challenges are Card Positioning Systems and A Spoon Full of Sugar I like the idea of the backing paper cut into squares, I might try this with some xmas cards. the stamp is one I bought years ago in a 99p bin in a craft shop and the ribbon was gifted to me by a friend in Oz.
I have been playing today with some parchment for an order of 12 Christening invitations I am making for a friend. Will post them later when I decide how to finishe them :)

squeezed in some crafting!

I was away for most of last week, we had to travel to Essex for Ian's mum's funeral. We got back on Sunday night so I had virtually a week off from crafting (!) It was a lovely service and my fab mother in law got a great send off, she would have loved it!
Yesterday was spent with catching up on the dreaded housework (sorry for the bad language lol) and washing, so that meant today I could get the craft stuff out.

This card is for this weeks sketch at 2 sketches 4 u it is Laura's sketch #10, nice and minimal. I could have gone mad with it but decided to stick to it and keep the card simple too. It is also for the challenge over at Daring Cardmakers, the theme this week is "scallops" so I dug out the scalloped scissors which I only just recently found in the craft box lol.

This next card is for the Papertake Weekly Challenge there are two challenges to choose from, either 1st birthdays or no stamping, I have in fact got a 1st birthday card to make this month but I couldn't get any inspiration for it, so went with the no stamping theme. It is a gatefold card, inside there are chipboard embellies on acetate strips so that they swing a bit in the breeze.
It's lovely to get back into crafting,
I do miss it when I can't do it!
