Crafty Ribbons sample #2

Here is my second sample for the crafty ribbons challenge. The ribbons are just gorgeous, the colours are lush and funky and I love them all :o) I almost didn't want to use them lmao!!

The letters have been cut with Fiskars templates, the papers were free in a magazine. Behind each letter is a sample of the ribbons too. All the layers are cut with Nesties Label 2, flowers, brads and bits n bobs are all from stash. The image is a Tilda coloured with promarkers and the bead at the bottom is from a pair of earrings I found in a charity shop and bought for the beads!

I spent a good two hours making this last night (which is why I was a bit late with the dt card oops!) and I loved every minute of it, I think Ms Mojo may have returned for a while lol

DT card (only a wee bit late lol)

Hello girlies!! I have finally got over my wee stay in the hospital and have made my dt card this morning. The sketch this week over at JCBC is by Simone and its a lovely one. The cute wee birdie with the cake was given to me in a swap so I'm not sure who is its by. The paper was free in a magazine and the ribbons are all from Crafty Ribbons. The card is going to be sent as one of my challenge samples. Flowers and brad from stash. I hope you'll join us this week, there's alovely Alota stamp to win this week :o)

Blog Candy Alert!!

Ida aka Little is having a lovely candy giveaway for becoming a meber of the DT over at the Cupcake Craft Challenge. Have a look at Ida's lovely blog, lots to inspire, it's easy to see why she was picked to be a member of the CCC DT :o)
The candy giveaway ends on April 3rd

Yet another change of plan!!!

Ok I think my meeting with Tina is jinxed!! Our first meeting was to be Thursday but Tina was unable to make it so we rescheduled for Saturday and then I went and got myself taken into hospital and so we had to cancel it yet again! I was rushed to hospital (I could have gone longer in my life without having been in an ambulance!) on Friday afternoon with chest pains. it started out as heartburn like when I was pregnant with Lily so I took a couple of painkillers and a bit of gaviscon to relieve it, but when 2 1/2 hours later is still hadn't gone, in fact it was worse, hubby took me round to the surgery. So a dose of diamorphine and some oxygen later they decided I had to go to hospital as my blood pressure and pulse were very low. Ho hum I thought better do as I'm told for once! An x ray and some blood tests late the upshot was I had to stay in overnight for more tests and to be monitored.

So here I am girlies back in the land of the living and I was soooo exhausted last night I was in bed by 10pm. I am feeling much better after a good sleep last night too :o)

Should be back later today or maybe tomorrow with my dt cards for Monday and hopefully some ribbon inspired crafting (yummmmy new crafty ribbons!) Take care all you gorgeous girlies, hope you're all enjoying the weekend................oh and btw I'm not telling anyone when Tina is coming next time so there can't be any jinxing lol

A change of plan and 2 awards!

Good morning gorgeous girlies, hope you're all well today, still quiet here on the mojo front, I think she might have found herself a manfriend and is it loving it up somehere the floozy lol

There was a change of plan yesterday and Tina couldn't come so she is coming tomorrow instead. I'm not sure if Tina realises what she's in for with lily here all day!! I feel there might be less crafting going on than we had originally planned lol However I am looking forward to it a lot, Poppy dog is coming too to meet Gypsy so should be a laugh watching the two dogs getting on (Gypsy is a total pushover, she will go along with whatever Poppy does bless her lol)

I have been given two awards this week, how lovely!! Always guaranteed to cheer me right up :o)

The first is from my lovely teamie Mada Mada and I are both on the DT for Just Christmas and Birthday Cards and she is a lovely lady. The DT comes from all over the world which I think is lovely, we all have different styles too, a real mixture lol. Thankyou Mada hun I love it :o)

The second award is from Dawn Dawn and I are both from the North of Scotland and although we have never met I feel a great friendship with her, she's just lovely!! I think I will be suggesting a North Meet Up sometime in the Summer, anyone up for it???
Now the only problem I have with these awards is choosing who to give them to so I am sorry to say I am chickening out this time (I know I know) I promise next time I will definetely do it!!

Looking for Ms Mojo

Happy Wednesday gorgeous girlies!!! I'm missing the all important Ms Mojo, she's gone AWOL Has anyone seen her? I think she got a taste for the sun last week and now thats its got cold again here she's deicided to pack her jimmy choos and hot foot it to somewhere sunny (and posh knowing her) lol Hope I don't get a huge credit card bill for it all lmao!!!

I am hoping that Tina can find her and bring her tomorrow as she is coming for the day (hmmmm a crafty day with a friend woohooo) Tina is bringing her stamps and bits and bobs for the cuttlebug so I am hoping playing with someone else's stash will help inspire me.

I got a lovely package this morning with the new ribbons for the Crafty Ribbons challenge, they are lush I have been stroking them all morning lol Gorgeous colours too, yummy springy green and orange and yellow :o)

Well girlies I better go and at least make a pass at tidying up (can't let Tina see what a terrible housekeeper I am lol) Have a happy day all, halfway to the weekend now girlies :o)

Good morning gorgeous girlies from a very confused Scotland!!! When I woke this morning it was raining and since then we've had sun and snow!!!!!! At the moment I can see sun and blue skies through the rain speckled window and I am hoping it will stop at that now lol

So this week is week 24 over at Just Christmas and Birthday Cards and this week the sketch is by Tanja, it is a lovely sketch and I can see lots of different cards coming up with it :o)

My birthday card this week is made with a cute wee birdie stamp I bouhgt at the SECC (imaginisce I think.......but don't quote me) the paper is from stash and the pink card is a scrap from the scrap box, the flowers are from stash with a sequin flower on top, all put together with wee flower eyelets.

The Christmas card is made with some paper I found in the Christmas box (no idea where its from tho) the HOHOHO ribbon was from tesco, the little xmas trees are also from tesco, they are little red sequin trees. some of the trees on the paper have stickles on the baubles. the stitched bauble is by stitchingcards stitched with basic cross stitch thread from my previous obsession lol
I hope you will come and join us over at JCBC we would love to see you :0) and the prize this week is a lovely Magnolia stamp....................I want it!!!!

The Sugar Bowl 6

WOW challenge number 6 at The Sugar Bowl already, the time has flown by so fast!! This time the challenge is to make something for Mother's Day. My mum is like me and just loves "Daisy", in fact it was mum who bought me the stamp for my birthday (I sent her a list of all the sugar nellies I wanted and god love her she bought 5!!)

Daisy is of course coloured with my beloved promarkers, the paper is by Dovecraft, the doilie( looks weird like that I am sure the spelling is rubbish lol) is from my stash as are the heart gems and the wee butterfly. The ribbon is Whisper White organza by Stampin Up. The green card is cut with the Fiskars border punch, flowers are a mix of brands and the brads are from stash too :o)

Well the escapades with the bike are still ongoing, I went for a cycle to the next village the other day and managed it without stopping (3 miles) then all the way back as well. It's the first time I've cycled so far and when I got back I tried in vain to find the rubber ring I used after Lily was born (I know its TMI for you but c'mon she was 8lb 11oz!!!!) but in the end I didn't need it!! My bottom is in fact intact heehee.

Moving on from bottoms lol................................On Wednesday I managed to get my dt card made for this weeks sketch at JCBC (really late I know slap slap), and as I reached over for the camera to take the pic I managed to spill a whole cup of tea on it, I am obviously destined not to do this weeks sketch!!!! So I am officially giving up on it and moving on to next weeks lol
Well cheeky girls I am off to do the school run and then off to post the card to my mum :o)

Ok I'm just about recovered lol

Well girlies we had "THE FIRST BIKE RIDE" on Sunday (yep it deserves both capitals and speech marks!!!) it was great, it was a lovely day although there was no sun, we managed about a mile each way, Lily was tired or else we would have gone further! I was amazed to find I could still do it,.............after all its over 20 years since I went on a bike but you know the saying.................it's like riding a bike lol

Lily was delighted to have had a family cycle, it was lovely to see her so happy! We are very lucky to have a cycle path next to the road between our village and the next one, so we will be building up to that (3 miles each way!!!)

Of course it was lovely at the time but sadly now my backside is wishing it had never been born and OMG the pain in my thighs!!! shows how unfit I am of course (oh the shame lol) Now it's Tuesday I can say I have finally recovered lmao

I am soooo behind this week, I haven't even had time to make my dt cards (naughty Amanda!!) there's just so much going on just now............stuff on every night, kids keeping me busy....yada yada yada! I will catch up I hope either that or meet myself coming back lol Hope all you gorgeous girlies in bloggy land are enjoying St Paddy's day :o)

Saturday, 14 March 2009

oh my lord what have I done????

Evening gorgeous girlies I'm not sure what came over me today! Ian and I and Lily were in Inverness for a bit of shopping and I came home with a bike!!!!!! I had been thinking about it for a while but been putting it off lol (can't think why heehee) So now I have a lovely cycle helmet and Lily is champing at the bit for us to go out for a bike ride tomorrow.......................oh dear I bet my backside isn't thanking me tomorrow lmao

Some more Comic Relief!

Just back from picking up the kids from nursery and took some pics of the little kids with their red noses, they are lovely so thought I would share them with you gorgeous girlies to ooh and aah over lol
the little darling insisted on me wearing Jay Jay's wig and nose so they could take a photo of me..........................hmmm why do we love kids again????

Comic Relief

Happy Red Nose Day all you gorgeous girlies!!! Nothing cardy to share today as I spent last night starting one of the cross stitch kits I got at the SECC last week, but I thought I would share some pics of Lily that I took this morning. For school they were to make themselves look different so she is wearing here pyjamas to school and has 8 ponytails in her hair!! She was so excited to be wearing her pyjamas out of the house lol

And now for an arty farty shot to try and get the effect of all the ponytails lol

Hope you're all having a fabbylicious red nose day!

First mothers day card of the year lol

Second card of the day is for the challenges at Lili of the Valley (mothers day card) and Papertake Weekly (sketch by DawnyP)

The image is a Sugar Nellie coloured with PMs (haha surprise!), paper is from stash don't know where its from, ribbon is certainly celery by StampinUp! The flowers are a mix of makes and the brad is from my stash. The wee envelope charm is one I bought at the craft fair last week, it has a wee heart on one side and sent with love on the other (aww cute) The sentiment is a peel off which I don't use much these days but I have a full sheet of mothers days ones so I thought I might as well use them!

Mojo Monday #77

Hello gorgeous girlies! Found some time today for some crafting at last, seems like ages since I had any time to do anything!!
What a lovely simple sketch at Mojo Monday, I did enjoy making this card. Tilda is coloured with promarkers, papers are by Laura Ashley, ribbon and gems from stash, flowers are papermania with punched flowers in top, the centers are punched circles embossed on the back to make them rounded. I was going to put a sentiment on the top right hand corner but I have a feeling I would muck it up lol

sugar nellie challenge and blog candy winner

Good evening gorgeous girlies here I am finally getting round to actually announcing the winner of the blog candy lol Lily picked the winner at 6pm, bless her she was so excited to make the draw, we got a drum roll and everything! I wanted to take a picture but the batteries died on me......................typical lol

so without further adoooooo....................the winner is.....................................Enfys!!!!!

Now onto a card!! I think I am just squeezing in at the death to enter this card for the Sugar Bowl Challenge, the challenge this fortnight was to make a Christmas card, now I don't actually have any Xmas Sugar Nellies but I thought that Luvvie could be Christmassy with some festive colour :o) The papers are by Papermania, Luvvie is coloured with the PMs and paper pieced, ribbons from stash, sentiment is an old one and I have no idea where its from. And yep you've guessed it there's that border punch again!! And OMG surely not........is that a white space on the card?? it was hard but the papers stand out better against the white rather than another layer!

Well nighty night girlies, think I am heading off to bed with my book :o)

Some chipboard embellishments also from that collection

Some tiny metal charms~ snowflakes and dragonflies

A 6x6 Papermania Pad~ antique cream

JCBC # 22

Morning girlies!! Well Monday morning is here again and of course that means DT time over at Just Christmas and Birthday Cards

This weeks sketch is by the fabulous Linda, if you haven't been to Linda's blog before, get yourself over there, she makes fantastic cards, I am really inspired every time I visit there!! My xmas card is made with a set of stamps from SeeD's, there are some really cute angels and fairies in it so I had to have them lol. The papers were scraps so not sure where they came from, scalloped edge cut with Fiskars border punch. The ribbon was a loop in a t-shirt lol Ribbon slider cut with cuttlebug die. There are wee blobs of stickles on the tree and stars :o)

This weeks birthday card is made with a Sugar Nellie stamp called "Strawberry Tea" and is coloured with promarkers. The papers are from the new packs I got yesterday by Dovecraft, and lo and behold the border punch again (get used to it I think it's here to stay lmao). Setiment stamp is Lili of the Valley cut with new label nestie.
I must apologise for the really bad photo quality, I took the piccies at night and had to lighten them a bit as it is so dark and these energy saving lightbulbs are almost as bad as no bulb at all lol
Linda's sketch really was a joy to work with, I hope you will join us over at Just Christmas and Birthday Cards :o)
My blog candy closes at midnight tonight, please come and enter it while you can!

All my crafty goodies!!

Ok here goes with the pics of all the stuff I bought yesterday! I actually met up with 2 of my aunts and my gran at the SECC, it wasn't arranged before I booked to go, they happened to mention a couple of days before that they were going when they heard I was going too!! I haven't seen them since New Year so it was great to catch up with them :o)

Both my aunts are cross stitch mad and although I haven't done any for a while I must admit I do like Cross stitching as well so we started off in the stitching hall. There really were some gorgeous kits and I couldn't resist these two.......

The baby shoe one was reduced to £2.99 so how could I NOT buy it?? The latte one is going to be for my kitchen (we are putting a new kitchen in later in the year) I thought I could take some of the lovely bright colours for paint and accessories!

After lunch we headed over to the hobby craft hall and this was the bit I was most looking forward to (I'm sure you're not surprised to hear that lol)

I have no idea what half of the stalls were called, I really just concentrated on what they HAD!!
Set of nesties: label
Fiskars threading water punch
silver stickles
pink liquid pearls
cute wee birdie stamp
Lilac and aqua papers by Dovecraft (£1 so got two!)
cream tone papers by Papermania

2 pack jewel brads (clear and lilac/green)
2 packs eyelets (lilacs and greens)
pastel brads
glue pen
and whole pile of charms!!

Plenty of rolls of DS tape (they were 2 for £1)
15 mini rolls of ribbon (15 rolls for £6)
2 packs Papermania flowers
some more ribbon :o)

These Fiskars goodies were given to me by Lorraine's boss as I said goodbye to Lorraine on my way to the bus!! How good was that? One of the finger blades and some stencils.......fab!
I was already planning on going to the fair in October by the time I got on the bus to come home and when I mentioned it to Ian when I got home he reminded me that its the weekend of his son's wedding in Gretna so sadly I won't be going!! Ah well never mind, maybe I can talk him into stopping in on the way home on the Sunday lol

Tired but happy!!!

Got back from the SECC a wee while ago and although I am sooooo tired I had a fantastic day! I spent a small fortune and bought plenty of bits and bobs that I HAD to have! I will take a pic tomorrow and show you all my bargains :o) I got to meet up with Lorraine on the Fiskars stand which was fabby, she's such a doll! Wish I could have stayed longer with her I think we could have had a right good giggle lol

Well I imagine I will be ready to have a play with all my new toys tomorrow so expect to see some cards tomorrow afty :o)

cupcakes for a couple of challenges

I am just loving the ribbons I received for the cupcake challenge at Crafty Ribbons, they are really fabby I was asked to make 2 cards and I ended up making 4 lol
This card uses the sketch from Mojo Monday and I have flipped the sketch to make the ribbon the right way round! the stamp is by Bootiful Stampz, she is coloured with promarkers, the stripy paper was a scrap I found in the drawer, both ribbons are from Crafty Ribbons.

This card uses the sketch from Truly Scrumptious, the papers were free in a magazine, as before the ribbons are all from Crafty Ribbons. The doily was in my drawer and the cupcake is made with cardstock, the pink icing piece has beads sewn on.

And this last card was just one that came to me in the middle of the night lol I remembered that had the pattern for a stitched cupcake, so I did the icing on its own and cut it out. There is a patterned paper which doesn't really show up in the pic, it was free in a magazine as well lol

I am of to the SECC tomorrow to the craft fair and I am sooo looking forward to it!! I rarely get any time to myself so a whole day is like a holiday to me :o) Also the prospect of buying lots of craft stash is very welcome!!! The Crafty Ribbons people are at the show so I'm taking my cards to hand in to them there :o)

Lorraine's fabby candy

Lorraine over at Crafty Coo has a fabby idea for blog candy to celebrate being a demo at the SECC this weekend. It had started off with a jewellery making kit but will be growing over the next two weeks, in fact there will be 14 items as Lorraine is adding something to it every day!!! Get yourself over there and join in, you will get an entry for each day you comment :o)

animals for Cute Card Thurs and Charisma Cardz

The theme over at Cute Card Thursday and Charisma Cardz is "Animals". This piece has been on the go for a while and is for a friend's birthday, seeing the theme spurred me on to finish it off. It is quite a large piece to be framed, the piece of card it is on is A4 so that should give you an idea of the size of it lol. I have made this pattern a couple of times and I love it, I must get round to making it for myself one of these days! All the different areas have different grid patterns.

ABC challenge............C is for

The challenge at ABC is to make a child's card.....I love making kids cards, especially with a child in mind, this one was made with a boy in Lily's class in mind, Jack is Spiderman daft! The spiderman picture is 3d.

The letters were drawn freehand and edged with black pen to make them stand out against each other, the greeting is a peel off.

Here we are at week 21 for JCBC already!!! This weeks sketch is by Rheannon and is a lovely one with lots of elements for all your fabbylicious embellishments!! The image is by Bootiful Stampz and is coloured with promarkers (what else lol) the paper was free in a magazine. The ribbons are all from the Crafty Ribbons cupcake range (I was quick enought to get in for the challenge this time lol) and this card is for the challenge :o) flowers and brads from my stash.
Please come along and play with us at JCBC, and check out the other DT members cards they are just gorgeous :o)
