Simple baby card

ooops its been so long since I posted anything.......this year so far has been a sickly one!  We started the year with Alfie having a chest infection on his birthday, I had been struggling with a stubborn cough too over Christmas and New Year.  Now 3 months later.......I have had antibiotics for a chest infection, then steroids as the cough wasn't shifting and I am struggling to breathe so I am now getting tested for asthma to top it all off!...... and poor Alfie has another chest infection.  In between that we've have Alfie and Lily down with sickness bugs too.  Am seriously thinking of crafting myself an "unclean" bell for the front door!

I thought I would share this REALLY simple card with you today.  There is a wee sneaky peek at a new digi image from Anice, but it's nice and small and hopefully Anice won't notice and smack my wrists too much haha!

I used the Rainbow Polkadots papers.  I do love polkadots.  I drew round my double sided tape roll once on each sheet.  Once cut out, I cut them in half.  One half becomes the base of the pram, then cut the other in half again to make the hood.  Two small circles (I drew round my pritt stick lid this time....technical stuff here!) for the wheels.  It looked a wee bit bare so I found a wee sliver of pink ribbon and coloured it purple with a promarker to edge the base of the pram.  Then a small tag made with the BABY word digi image and it was done!

Anyone who knows me knows I do like a nice simple card, and this one is perfect for a last minute card, as it really doesn't take long to make.  You can also make it more fancy if you have the time :)

I also made a wee tag to go with this card.  It is paper pieced with the same polkadot paper, and just a few wee added pearls.

We'd love you to share any Funky Hand makes you've been making, either on the Get Funky and Craft blog or on the Funky Hand Facebook page.

Valentine's Choccies

Valentine's Day tomorrow! I am sure the mad advertising on tv and everyhwere else has not escaped your attention lol
Ian and I don't do much in the romace department for Valentines Day if I am honest, but I usually get the old man a sweetie or two and a card.  This year I thought the new download from Funky Hand, Just for Jen was perfect for a bit of Valentine's craftiness.  I chose the grey paper cos it's perfect for Ian, he's not much of a hearts and flowers type.  Red always goes so well with grey, plus it matched the heart Choccies so had to go with that.

The box was a little one I got from ikea ages ago.  They come plain white for decorating and are perfect for us crafters. I cut a swirl for behind the heart, the sentiment was done on the pc.  The narrow ribbon was one of those most annoying loops found inside almost every top I buy these days! I cut them out and put them straight in my craft stash.

The Choccie hearts were from poundland (shhh don't tell hubby). Sadly not all the Choccies would fit in and there was one lonely wee heart left all on its ownsome...........not for long though I soon put it out of its misery.  Since I made the box though I have in fact given the choccies to Lily to give for Valentine's Day!  She has a wee boyfriend at school and he gave her a lovely teddy and card on Monday and seeing as she is now off school for the rest of the week for half term we literally had Monday night to get something for her to give him.  So I sacrificed Ian's choccies for young love.......awwwwww

SO best get out to poundland for more choccies eh?

Spring Colours for Get Funky and Craft

It is my turn to share over at Get Funky and Craft.  I have been lacking in mojo somewhat lately and haven't made anything for a while.  I made a few Christmas cards, but just for close friends and family.  But I have made a resolution/challenge to get back into my craft room and get busy!

So to start myself off I have made a card for a friend at work.  No cutie pie images for her, she's not really that kind of gal, so thought I would go with the sentiment as the focal point.  I love these papers from the Happy Happy Birthday cd, the collection is Winter Birthday.  I love the spring colours in this stripy paper.  I made the sentiment with the write on the cd, fab for matching the colour to the paper.

Flower, leaves, ribbon and charm all from stash.

Phew that's the first card of the year done.........if anyone sees my mojo send her home would you? lol

Funky Inks Blog Hop!

Hop hop hop Good Morning!!! Yes today is the day.......the Funky Hand and Tiddly Inks Blog hop woop woop!!

Yes today the gorgeous Anice from Funky Hand and us Funkettes have come together with the fabby Christy from Tiddly Inks and the super talented design team girlies to give you a fantastic blog hop.  You should have come to me from the lovely Alyce and if you didn't then please check out the blog hop order below to make sure you don't miss anyone.

I have been a Funkette for a couple of years now and I have to say I still love it as much now as I did when I first started, in fact even more lol.  I love Anice's gorgeous papers, and best of all as they are digi papers they are so different and you're not left with papers you'll never use.....bonus for us space-conscious girlies!  And living where craft shops are as rare as hen's teeth I do most of my craft shopping online and with digi downloads there is that instant gratification that is so fabulous lol.  Like many I was wary of digi stamps to start with, but now I just love them, I love how you can make them any size you want without losing any quality.

SO now here is my card made specially for the blog hop made with Roboto image from Tiddly Inks which also comes with a digi paper of the balloons, I used it to decorate the inside of the card, but I forgot to take a pic (oops).  The stripy paper is from the Rainbow Stripey Stripes download from Funky Hand.  I coloured wee Roboto with 2 shades of grey Promarkers.  My sentiment was printed on the pc.  It's a kinda simple card, but anyone who has visited my blog before will know I like simple!

So now you need to hop onto the gorgeous Dilyana's blog. Make sure you leave a comment on all the blogs to make sure we know you have hopped everywhere (we'll be checking lol) and you will have the chance to win a £20 voucher to spend at Funky Hand or $20 to spend at Tiddly Inks.......what more could you want?

Here's the blog hop order in case you've got a wee bit lost :)

Enjoy the hoppy hop :)

Christmas is all about the kids

It's my turn to host the challenge over at Get Funky today :)  As usualy I struggled to come up with a theme, but seeing as most of us will have at least started on the C word preparations I decided to go with

Wordbooks!!

This month over at Get Funky the fabby dabby Lou has set the challenge of

WordBooks

I have made this one for a friend to give at a wedding.  I have used the easy peasy lemon squeezy wordbook tab on the Wishes and Kisses cd and the paper collection is Hello Baby.  For me the fact that you can personalise them so much is why I love wordbooks - you could have mr&mr or mrs&mrs if you need to, I bet those kinds of cards are hard to find!

For those who don't have any of the Funky Hand cds or downloads Anice has made a fantastic Funky Freebie so you can still join in.  This month it is a set of letters so you can cut them out and add them to strips of card to make a wordbook.......simples.

As always the prize is the download of your choice, maybe if you've caught the Wordbook bug you can download one of the gorgeous wordbook downloads, there are plenty to choose from and even some Christmas ones (I know I know I'm sorry!!)

Please remember our 1 rule is to use a Funky Hand item on your wordbook

Anything Goes at Funky Hand

Ok I have been a rrrrreeeeaaaaalllllyyyy bad blogger haven't I?  I need a slapped hand.........  With it being the school holidays every spare minute apart from working was spent with the kids trying to dodge the showers and find some fun stuff to do.  Luckily Lily went back to school last week so hopefully normal service should be resumed soon lol
This month at Get Funky the lovely lou has set an easy peasy lemon squeezy theme of "Anything Goes Using Funky Hand"  How simple is that? Anything you can think of so long as it uses a Funky Hand item on it!! And if you haven't got any Funky Hand stash then Anice has made a lush freebie paper click here to download it.

My card was made with the gorgeous jaquard paper from the Wishes and Kisses cd rom. The image is also on the cd.  This has to be my favourite paper on the cd and wow it looks lush in all the different colours, there's one perfect for any occassion.  I love the cream lace I used on this card, in fact as I have very little left you might never see it again......I am scared to finish it lol

Please remember we only have one rule at get Funky ~ to use at least one Funky Hand item on your make.  The prize is the download of your choice, and as you know there are loads to choose from!

Go to the Get Funky page and click on the blue froggy to enter your creation, or if you don't have a blog why not enter through the Funky Hand facebook page  Just like I said........easy peasy lemon squeezy

The big 60!!

The lovely Jackie is in the hot seat this month over and Get Funky and she has set you a challenge of "Just a number"  Basically there must be a number on it, text is ok but images are banned this month!!

For my sample I have made a wodbook for my step dad's big birthday in a few weeks.  It will actually be his birthday card so not exactly a wordbook.  He is a huge Dunfermline Athletic fan so I just had to use the team colours and they just happen to be a combo I love.  I used the Wishes and Kisses cd and the fab wordbook maker that is just so simple to use :o)

As always the only rule at Get Funky is to use a Funky Hand product on your creation.  We don't mind what you make, how many challenges you enter with it and what else you use on the item, but if there's not a Funky Hand paper or image on it then you won't be entered into the prize draw for the Download of your choice from the Funky Hand website (and there is a new scrummy download coming soon so you really don't want to miss that!)  To make this open to all Anice provides a free paper every month especially with the challenge in mind and it is available to download here
Can't wait to see what you make for this month's challege :o)

sketchy love at Get Funky

Anice has made a fabby dabby sketch for us this month at Get Funky  I do love a good sketch, card just seem to make themselves when you have a really good sketch to follow :o)

I used the new Wishes and Kisses cd for the papers and images on my card, it really is a fantastic cd, something for everything on there!!  The hearts have some glossy accents on to make them stand out a wee bit, the ribbon and flowers are from stash as are the heart gems.

Don't where the time has gone this last few weeks, there seems to have been no time for crafting or blogging :(  Thats work for you eh? Back later with some more bits from the new cd :)

a wee fairy

We had a 2nd birthday party to go to today (who says I don't have a social life? LOL)  One of Alfie's little friends from toddler group, Jessica.  I made this card with Lili of the Valley die cut fairy, I used 2 to layer them up, and put extra pads under the wings so they stand out even more, not that the picture shows it that well.  I also used my beloved Martha Stewart punch, some flowers and pearls from stash and a wee flutterby charm.  The sentiment is also Lili of the Valley.

Oldie But Goodie ~ die cuts and punches (had the die cuts for ages)
Creative Card Crew ~ ribbon
Papertake Weekly ~ anything goes
Simon Says ~ birthday
Willow Sketchie ~ sketch
Fussy & Fancy ~ butterflies/ribbon/punches

Simply Sentimental

Morning from a quite sunny Scotland!!  I know I know I am making all of you with rain a bit sick, but lets face it how often do we Scots get to say its sunnier here than in the South?  So I am gonna enjoy it lol

Over at Get Funky the theme this month is "Get Sentimental".  Debs wants the sentiment to take centre stage on your creation so Anice has made a great freebie with a few different sentiments, perfect for all occassions.

I have to admit this was in fact a challenge for me!  I am so used to having my image and papers all picked out before I start my card.  So I decided to keep it simple and I used the funky freebie (available here).  Both the sentiment and the stripy paper are on the freebie.

Only one rule at Get Funky and its quite simple really, you need to use at least one Funky Hand item on your creation.  We don't mind what you make or how many challenges you enter, so long as there is a Funky Hand product on it you're in with a chance to win the download of youer choice.
We are also accepting entries via the facebook page, especially handy for those not addicted to blogging, so if you know someone who would like to enter but doesn't blog then please tell them to visit the facebook page and get entered :o)

pink and brown

Ugh who else is sick of this rain?  I am sooo sick of it, the kids are sick of not getting out to play and hubby is sick of it cos its making the grass grow so quick lol.  Hey ho, nothing we can do about it tho hey?

I made this card for a friend to give to her sister on her 18th birthday soon.  I wanted it to be a bit girlie without being overly frilly and babyish.  Thought the pink and brown would be girlie in a  grown up kinda way lol.

Challenges:
I <3 Promarkers ~ lets go shopping
Fab n funky ~ lace and pearls
Passion for Promarkers ~ pink, pearls and lace
Polkadoodles ~ Pretty In Pink
Truly Scrumptious ~ Sketch

yellow.......not my usual choice lol

I have an order for an 18th birthday card. I found this image in my image box and thought I'd give a wee whirl......... Now yellow is not my usual colour choice but I threw caution to the wind and decided to just go for it!! My customer doesn't like it, and if I am honest I wasn't sure she would which I know makes no sense at all but you know how it goes, sometimes our cards just don't turn out how we pictured them in our heads, but you have to go with it any way lol.

Anyway it fits a few challenges and I now have an 18th card waiting on the right 18 year old hehehe. Better head off and get my thinking cap on for another 18th card :o)
