This is my gorgeous cousin, Joanne, who sadly died a few weeks ago from Ovarian Cancer. She had been fighting it for about 3 years. For years I have been saying I would do the Race for Life and this year I am putting my trainers where my mouth is and have signed up for it! I am doing the Inverness one on Sunday 9 May.If anyone would like to sponsor me for this fabulous cause my sponsorship page is here

What sad news to hear & my thoughts are with all of your family just now... having had a scare myself I know only too well how this terrible disease eats away without your knowing it's even there. I give thanks every day that I was one of the lucky ones.

Good on you honey going to do the race & hey... what difference does it make if you walk, run or even finish... the thing is you are making the effort and that is all that counts.
I'll put a post on my blog later for you too as the more light shone on the situation the better.

I was so sorry to read about this. Your cousin was beautiful. I am on a Relay for Life team here in the US. My mother has kidney cancer, my uncle died with pancreatic cancer, and a friend just passed from cancer. We need to get going and rid this disease from our lives. Good luck on your walk.
