week 3 at Allsorts!

WOW what a fab response we have had to the second challenge at Allsorts the dt are all delighted! I am particularly loving the blog hopping I am really loving all your cards :o)

This week the theme is "Curly Swirly" and is set by the fabulous Kirsten. I was struggling with this as I don't have much in the way of swirly stamps and I find it difficult to decide where they should go lol I had a quick squizz through the stitching patterns as I know there are a lot of swirly ones and I found the pattern for the beaded wisteria. I have made this one a few times and I love how it turns out.

It is stitched onto pearlescent card then mounted onto an old cd, can't remember where the paper is from it has been on the box forever lol
I hope you will find some time to join us with the Curly Swirly theme this week :o)

crafty evening part 2

Here we are with the second card from last night and a sneaky peaky at tomorrows DT cards :o)
The theme at A spoonfull of sugar is "celebration", Creative Card Crew want shaped cards and Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge have a theme of "New Beginnings". This card is a wee dinky one as the largest nestie isn't that big but the stamped image is quite small anyway so I thought it would be cute. Not sure where the image is from as it was given to me ages ago.

Image: no idea sorry
Papers: free with magazine
Buttons and safety pins: from stash
Also used: Nesties label 2 and pink liquid pearls

And here is my wee sneaky peaky at tomorrows dt cards................

Well girlies I hope you are all enjoying some lovely bank holiday weather, it's dry but cold up here, not quite cold enough for lighting the log burner but cold enough that I have a thick cardi on lol We should be grateful it's not raining I suppose lol

See you all tomorrow :o)

crafty evening part 1

Hiya girlies how are we all on this Bank Holiday weekend? We don't get this one at the school so life is just the same for us this week lol I had a lovely evening at the craft table last night, I did two DT cards for tomorrow's sketch at JCBC first time in ages I have managed both a Christmas and a birthday card :o)

I also managed a couple of other cards for some challenges (YAY!)

First up this card is for the challenges at: Sketch and Stash (new stash is the SU buttons) Penny Black want "buttons galore" and the Cute Card Thursday theme is "A sporting chance"

Image: Penny Black coloured with Promarkers
Papers: K&Co (I think lol)
Ribbon: SU
Buttons: SU
Brad and chipboard pieces: K&Co
Also used: Fiskars border punch
The image originally had a balloon but I wanted it to be more masculine to go with the paper so used a footy brad from the set with the paper.........it looks like the wee hedgie is jumping up to catch the ball :o) I think this will be Ian's father's day card from Lily seeing as it's not far off now!

Allsorts week 2!

WOW what a fab response we had to the first challenge at Allsorts. I really enjoyed blog hopping round all the entries, it made me want sweets though!! Who am I to argue? lol

Now onto week 2 :o) The challenge this week is set by Emma and it is a goodie!! Emma wants you to make your card/project with no stamped image. I know I know I can see you all running for the hills!! But fear not!! It's a lot easier than you think lol

The next best thing to stamped images for me is parchment craft. I love doing it although I am not that good at it, the problem is it takes so long, the longest card was 3 days and when I say 3 days I mean 3 days of at least 4 hours each day!!!! Anyhoooo onto this weeks card. The image is traced with white pencil and gold gel pen, the white folds of the dress are embossed on the back then it's sewn to the card with the beads.
I really love this image she is so elegant...............just like me (I think not)

Sorry the photo isn't great, sadly I can't take another piccie of it cos I've already sent it lol

I hope you'll join us on the second Allsorts challenge

Then to cap it all today I have 2 new girls starting! These two wee ones have been taken into care, so they are a wee bit lost and bewildered! They are 3 and 7 and just the loveliest girls :o) I have them during school time as their foster carer works at the school. Not sure how long they are here for, just temporary at the moment though.

I have been flicking through everyones blogs as usual but haven't got the energy to muster many comments!! Sorry girlies, normal service will be resuming as soon as :o)

Black & White and Orange for Penny Black

Hello hello girlies sorry I have been MIA for a couple of days........have been enjoying this beautiful sunshine that I haven't had much time for anything else :o) Up here in the Highlands we like to make the most of it when it's here because we know it's not going to be around for long hahaha!

I did, however, manage to squeeze in a wee challenge today (mainly because I've had to try and stay out the sun today as I overdid it a bit yesterday and am more than a bit pink lol) The theme at Penny Black is black and white and one other colour. I thought I would try a colour I don't usually use and this orange cardstock jumped out at me :o)

Luckily this morning I managed a card for quite a few challenges and started a card for another lol This card is for the challenges at: Spoonful of Sugar (touchy feely); Creative Card Crew (everyone emboss); Lili of the Valley (pink, green and blue); Charisma Cardz (sketch) and finally Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge (brads/eyelets).........................phew!!!

JCBC # 31

Good morning girlies! Hope you're all having a lovely Monday and had a fabby weekend :o) This week's sketch is by Rheannon and I loved working with it ~ lovely and simple with lots of scope for making it more complicated if you want!

For this week's sketch I decided to make a scrapbook page. (I hope that Karin will forgive it not being a card?!) One of the children I used to look after was in foster care and he has gone to live with his grandparents. I am making him a scrapbook so he has lots of lovely photos to look at and remember his time with us. This is the first page I have made, I just LOVE this picture of him, he has such a cheesy grin...heehee.

I haven't done much in the way of scrapbooking before so it is just a 6x6 album to ease me in gently lol Watch out girlies ~ I can feel a new addiction coming on ;o)

Image: photo

Paper: from stash

Ribbon: from stash

Also used: scalloped circle nesties and ribbon slider die with cuttlebug

Gems: from stash

I hope you'll hop on over to Just Christmas and Birthday Cards and join in with this week's fun :o)

wooohoooo fab news!!

I have been dancing round the room and laughing like a maniac!! Ian has no idea what I am on about but then h be hasn't got a clue about blogging lol Or DTs for that matter!! You see my good news is that I have been chosen to be on the dt of the new Allsorts challenge blog!!

Our first challenge will be posted next Saturday (16th) and the best news is we are being sponsored by Sit Stampsalot :o)

I am soooooo looking forward to getting to know the other girlies in the team and getting my teeth into the first challenge ;o)

nighty night girlies I better go and explain it all to my bewildered hubby lol

sneaky peek

Hello girlies, woohhoooooo we have had sun today!!! I woke up this morning and I thought I was still dreaming when I saw the sun streaming in the window lol Lily and I went to feed the ducks after Sunday School and she was delighted to see 5 new ducklings ~ she has been learning about new beginnings in school and so has been obssessed with looking for new beginnings wherever we go :o)

I thought I would give you a sneaky peak of tomorrow's dt work as I have nothing crafty to show you today :o)

Had a lovely afternoon with Tina yesterday. I stamped away happily with her new stamps and Tina (with a lot of help from Lily lol) cut some bits and bobs on the cuttlebug. Poppy played away happily with Gypsy and Andrew and Ian talked sport (yawn!)
Hope you're all having a lovely Sunday girlies and see you all tomorrow :o)

Funky Hand are looking..............

I am sure most of you girlies will know by now that Anice is looking for more peeps to join her funky design gang................so I am going by the motto of "you've gotta be in it to win it" lol

I have to post two cards I am proudest of ~ of course us crafter are always hyper critical of our own work, but I have to confess these two cards I didn't want to part with lol My all time favourite stamp is little Daisy here, I think I have liked every card I have made with her!!

Salt and Pepper papers from Funky Hand with a santa suit saved from a xmas card I received :o)

So if you fancy joining in the fun click here to get to the DT call :o)

Just Magnolia 3

Oooh a lovely sketch by the fabulous Bev this week over at Just Magnolia I love this Tilda image, she looks so thoughtful!

Image: Tilda coloured with Promarkers

Papers: Hot off the Press 12x12 pack that I won in a blog candy

Ribbon, gems and charm: from Stash

Also used: SU 1/4" circle punch, swirl cut with cuttlebug die

the green 1/4" circles were embossed from the back to make them look like card candy ;o)

one card for 4 challenges

Helloooo girlies.................Thursday already..........wooohoooo! Don't know where the week has gone but am glad it's almost the weekend :o) It is Wild here today, high winds and a LOT of rain!! I am glad to be indoors and cosy.

The challenge over at Cute Card Thursday "Happy Mail" ~ to make a card to cheer someone up got me thinking of a friend who's been having a hard time recently. She's only 24 and her mum died 6 months ago and she is struggling to manage the house on her own and is going to move away in September to be nearer her brothers. She is having a few problems at work as well so I thought I would send this to her. She is "cow mad" or should that be mad cow (heehee) Using the cow image means I can enter this into Daring Cardmakers where the theme is "Old MacDonald". The sketch is from Friday Sketchers, I have flipped it round a bit and the colour scheme of Brown, Cream and Red is from Colour Create Challenge. Phew think I got them all lol.

I have tried some distressing for the first time, I edged the layers with the brown promarker then attacked them with my scissors!! I have to admit I quite like the effect although it was rather strange to be trying to make my pristine edges rough lol

Image: Custard by Sugar Nellie, coloured with Promarkers
Papers: Papermania "antique cream"
Ribbon: SU gingham
Button: SU
Sentiment: Lili of the Valley
